What We Believe

1. One Father (Eph 4:6)

We believe in the God revealed in the Bible. God is a Spirit (John 4:24). Eternal (Ps 90:2); All-Knowing (Ps 139:1-6); Present Everywhere (Ps 139:7-12); and All-Powerful (Rev 19:6; Ps 91:1).

We are because He is (Gen 2:7). God is and has always been (Ex 3:14) and He chose to father us (2 Cor 6:17). Mankind began and God has always been with us (Ps 125:2). He provides for us (Mat 6:30) and cares for us (1 Pet 5:7) and without Him we would not even have breath (Genesis 2:7; Acts 17:25).

2. One Lord (Eph 4:5)

Jesus is our Lord or Ruler. He has all authority over our lives (Mat 28:18). We need help. From the beginning we needed help. God had a plan to fill that need. Jesus would pay the price for our sin and provide for us the Fee Gift of eternal life (Rom 6:23). No matter what society thinks and other religious leaders claim— the Bible says “There is salvation in no one else under heaven” (Acts 4:12).

Jesus is Eternal (John 1:1-2); He is the Creator (John 1:3-4); He became Flesh (John 1:14), was crucified, buried, rose the third day and ascended (Acts 1:1-3). He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords (1 Tim 6:15). Many things rule people’s lives—but Jesus should be the ONLY thing (1 Pet 3:15).

3. One Spirit (Eph 4:4)

The Holy Spirit was involved in Creation (Gen 1:2); The Spirit intercedes in our Prayers (Rom 8:26-27); and is seen in Providence for our protection (Phil 1:19). The Spirit provided Miraculous gifts in the first century (1 Cor 12:8-11; Rom 12:5-6); and Natural gifts for our lives (Rom 12:7-8). And because of Him, we have the Inspired Bible that guides our life (John 14:26; 2 Pet 1:21; 2 Tim 3:16).

4. One Hope (Eph 4:4)

We live in a damaged world (Rom 8:20) with a damaged a humanity (Eccles 9:3). The heart of man hungers for better place where the pain and limited resources of this world simply do not matter. There is a place prepared for us that we cannot yet see (John 14:2; Heb 11:10). We are NOT looking for a rehabbed earth. This universe will be burned up (2 Pet 3:10; Heb 1:10-12). There is a future set for us that is outside of time. God wants us with Him. We believe that and live our lives confident of that wonderful hope.

5. One Body (Eph 4:4)

We are a part of the ONE body of Jesus—identified as His Church (Col 1:18; Eph 1:22-23). God’s church is simply the group of people who obeyed God’s will to be part of God’s family (John 8:31).

So which one is true? Unitarians might accept “Christian Atheists.” Mormon books state their God is of flesh and bones [D & C; Sec 130; para 22]; who lives on a planet near the Star “Kolab” [Book of Abraham chap 3; 2-3, 9). Christian Science Religion doesn’t believe anybody or anything exists physically AT ALL. [Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures/ Glossary/ “Matter = Mythology, illusion, opposite of truth”].

Jesus said that “I will build MY church” (Mat 16:18). Paul writes “The churches of Christ greet you (Rom 16:16). Jesus shows that many will call him Lord, but not obey him and be Lost because of their disobedience (Mat 7:21-23). It’s important to know the truth—because that will judge us on the Last Day (John 12:48).

6. One Faith (Eph 4:5)

We are people of faith. We believe in the person of Jesus Christ and the Doctrines of Christ as revealed in the Bible— inspired by the Holy Spirit (Rom 10:17). It was given but ONCE (Jude 1:3). There is no true later day revelation. When religious people promote a different, perverted, distorted gospel—even if they claim it was given by an angel—the Apostle Paul says they shall be “Accursed” or “Devoted to Destruction” (Gal 1:6-8). The Apostle Paul “Fought the good fight, finished the course and KEPT THE FAITH (2 Tim 4:7). And in the future there is CROWN RESERVED for not only him, but all of us involved in the Battle for Right, who look forward to the Lord’s Return (2 Tim 4:8).

7. One Baptism (Eph 4:5)

There is only ONE BAPTISM involved with God’s Plan of Salvation. This ONE baptism is NOT sprinkling infants; baptism in fire of national judgment (Mat 3:10-12); baptism in the Holy Spirit (Mat 3:11); not overwhelmed by pain (Luke 12:50); nor immersion by John the Baptist (Acts 19:3).

  • There is only ONE baptism in the name of Jesus Christ involved in the remission of sins (Acts 2:38).
  • That ONE baptism in the name of Jesus Christ was BAPTISM in WATER (Acts 10:47-48).
  • The Bible repeatedly shows that only ONE baptism is related to the remission of sin (1 Pet 3:21; Acts 22:16, Titus 3:5).

We submit to the Lord’s command in baptism on the basis of our faith (John 3:16); repentance (Acts 3:19) and confessing our belief in Jesus as Lord (Rom 10:9-10); we are buried in water (Acts 8:38). Then we can ARISE to start a fresh, new life as our old life is left behind (Rom 6:4).

The Bible says is to “Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.” (1 Thess 5:21). We at the Church of Christ cordially invite you to worship with us. By attending, you will be our honored guest, and we will strive to make you feel right at home.

Why not be a part of that one church He died for?

ABOUT US

Who We Are

Who We Are NOT

Who We Are NOT

We are simply Christians. We seek to be Christians just like the first century disciples– in our name, belief and practice. Jesus said, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed” (John 8:31). We seek only to follow the words and instructions of Jesus and the inspired men who wrote the Bible (2 Tim 3:16; 2 Pet 1:20-21).

We exist as congregations all over the world— but are linked simply by our allegiance to Christ and our common faith. We are not perfect, nor do we pretend to be. We try to nurture spiritual growth in everyone. (Eph 4:12-13; 2 Pet 1:5-11). We encourage people to use their talents to honor God and bless others.

Who We Are NOT

Who We Are NOT

Who We Are NOT

We are not in any way tied to inter-congregational or denominational organizations such as the United Church of Christ, the International Church of Christ nor the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are not Jewish, Catholic, nor Protestant. Neither are we Buddhist, Muslims, Infidels, or Cultists. We are simply CHRISTIANS (1 Pet 4:16). Isn’t that refreshing? The division of the religious world today is vastly different from the unity enjoyed by first century Christians (Acts 4:32).

Our Authority

Our Authority

Our Authority

We accept and submit to God’s Word, the Bible as our sole standard of authority (2 Tim 3:16-17; 1 Pet 4:11). It’s simply His Word found in the Bible that rules our lives (Psa 119:105). It’s NOT the Bible PLUS the rules of any religious denominational Manual, Discipline, Catechism, Confession of Faith, Creed, tradition of man nor secular wisdom (Mat 15:9).

We do not pretend that we know the answer to every question. We are to “Examine all things carefully, hold fast to that which is good” (1 Thes 5:21). We look for book chapter and verse for all we should do as Christians.

When You Visit

Our Authority

Our Authority

People often do not know what to expect when they visit for the first time. Our worship is simple—lively singing, praying, Bible-based, preaching, giving and taking the Lord’s Supper. We assure you that we will not embarrass you in some way. Our guests are welcomed and respected. We will not single you out, ask you to raise your hand, call on you publicly, ask you to take the Lord’s Supper, nor to contribute to the collection (which is primarily for members of this congregation).
